Air Baltic Starts Tampere – Tallinn


On March 31, the Latvian national airline airBaltic starts a route linking the Estonian capital of Tallinn with the Finnish city of Tampere.

Riga – Tero Taskila, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic: “Finland and Estonia are important markets for airBaltic. We clearly see that both markets are underserved and need more routes.”

Air Baltic will fly from Tampere to Tallinn three times a week on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Passengers will board a Fokker 50 aircraft for a flight that will last for 50 minutes. One-way ticket prices will start at EUR 19, including airport fees and transaction costs. A full schedule of flights is available on the company’s homepage.

For 2009 airBaltic has announced 20 million EUR preliminary profit, and achieved 6% passenger growth to 2.75 million passengers. In Finland, airBaltic offers flights from Helsinki, Lappeenranta, Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Koupio, Vaasa, Kuusamo, Rovaniemi.  airBaltic serves 80 destinations from its home base at Riga, Latvia. From every one of these, airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.
