Motorola, Inc (NYSE:MOT) today announced the successful integration of the Motorola® B-1™ Video Server with the newly released SeaChange Axiom 4.0 on-demand management software. Motorola and SeaChange International (Nasdaq: SEAC) will demonstrate the integrated solution by streaming high-definition (HD) VOD content next week at The Cable Show 2007 in Las Vegas in Motorola’s booth.

The Motorola B-1 Server is an open platform, designed to integrate easily with standards-based solutions such as Axiom software. Acting in concert, the hardware and software components make it possible to manage and automate every aspect of on-demand video delivery, from video streaming, to billing, to advertising. This capacity, along with the unique, solid-state architecture of the B-1 Server, offers a compelling solution to operators looking to support the increasing demand for VOD and advanced on-demand video services.

“We’re pleased to offer our customers the ability to extend the capabilities of the B-1 Server with SeaChange’s Axiom software, the leading management solutions for on-demand video,” said Tom Kennedy, Director of Product Management for Motorola Connected Home Solutions. “This integration also gives Axiom customers more choices for their on-demand platforms, and allows them to easily integrate the Motorola B-1 into existing VOD environments to scale their VOD capabilities or offer new on-demand services.”

“Axiom embodies the experience of billions of video-on-demand streams delivered, and our newest generation is providing even more value to the television industry,” said Phil Simpson, director of on-demand solutions, SeaChange International. “Our open software interfaces now extend Axiom’s comprehensive capabilities to television operators using Motorola’s server, ensuring optimal content, network and subscriber management. This integration will offer increased revenue opportunities for SeaChange on a global basis.”

The Motorola B-1 Video Server
With the continued growth in VOD and the emergence of advanced video services, operators are putting greater demands on their on-demand infrastructure. Motorola addresses these needs with carrier-class technology solutions for the distribution of on-demand content to consumers. The company’s innovative solid-state server architecture is based on the intelligent configuration and management of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM). As a result, the platform uses less space and power than traditional video server technology, while providing performance, reliability and scalability improvements for video ingest, streaming, and storage. Motorola has shipped more than 500,000 on-demand video streams worldwide on the B-1 platform.

SeaChange introduces Axiom Core 4.0
