Airline Also Adds Flights on Its Milwaukee-Nashville and Milwaukee-Las Vegas Routes

MILWAUKEE  — Midwest Airlines (Amex: MEH) today announced the continued rollout of its 2007 strategic plan with the launch of nonstop Midwest Connect service to two new cities and frequency increases in two existing markets.

On September 16, Midwest will introduce twice-daily roundtrip service between Milwaukee and Charlotte, N.C. and between Kansas City and Austin, Texas. The new service will be offered on Midwest Connect 50-seat regional jets. Additionally, Midwest will add a fourth nonstop roundtrip to its Milwaukee-Nashville schedule effective September 4, and a fourth nonstop roundtrip to its Milwaukee-Las Vegas schedule effective October 1. The Milwaukee-Nashville service is provided on Midwest Connect 32-seat regional jets. The Milwaukee-Las Vegas service is operated by Midwest Airlines.

„At Midwest, we have always listened to our customers and they’ve told us they want to fly Midwest to more places, more often. Today’s announcement is a direct response to their requests,“ said Gregory D. Aretakis, vice president of Planning and Revenue Management. „We are thrilled to bring our award-winning service to more travelers than ever before.“

According to Aretakis, Charlotte and Austin were carefully selected because of their appeal to both business and leisure travelers. „Charlotte is the nation’s second-largest financial center and the hub of U.S. motorsports with its strong ties to NASCAR,“ Aretakis said. „Austin, which bills itself as the live music capital of the world, is a first-class entertainment city and the home of the University of Texas and the state capital. And both cities are renowned for their historical pasts, natural outdoor beauty, and rich and varied arts scene and culture.“ Aretakis added that the increased frequency to Nashville and Las Vegas was in direct response to heavy demand on these popular routes.

Tickets may be purchased at midwestairlines.com. Schedules, including a downloadable timetable, and fares are also available on the Web site.
