The company strengthens its presence in Italy, where it will also open the Gran Meliá Roma at the end of the year

Palma de Mallorca – Meliá Hotels International has announced the addition of a five star hotel in Genoa (Italy) to its portfolio to open on the 4 September, becoming the third hotel operated by the company in the country. The company has signed a total of 11 hotels so far this year (an average of one every three weeks) and continues to improve positioning of its most well-known brand, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, in the city hotel market with the incorporation of this modern hotel in the centre of Genoa, with facilities in keeping with the brand’s new quality and service standards.

The Meliá Génova is located in Vía Corsica, in the heart of the city, within a historical building built in 1929 which was totally refurbished and converted into a luxury hotel, known until now as the “Bentley Hotel” (THI Collection). The hotel provides 99 elegant rooms, one of which is a wonderful Presidential Suite measuring 80m2, whose privileged panoramic terrace with sea views and exterior Jacuzzi makes it one of the most exclusive experiences in the entire city.

An la carte restaurant and a lounge bar provide dining options noteworthy for their unique combination of traditional flavours from the Italian region of Liguria and their sensorial, vanguard architecture. The guest experience at the Meliá Génova is complemented by a Wellness Club, equipped with swimming pool, Turkish bath, whirlpool bath, tropical showers and fitness area.

The hotel also has spacious facilities for events and meetings, thanks to its congress room and two meeting rooms, all equipped with the latest technology to satisfy the needs of business clients.

Meliá Génova, which has been added to the Meliá Hotels International portfolio under a lease agreement, will open in September. Before the end of the year the Spanish company will also open its second hotel in the Italian capital, the Gran Meliá Roma, a majestic project for the most exclusive hotel brand and one of the city’s most luxurious hotels.
