iBAHN, an industry leader in delivering secure, reliable broadband services for travelers and groups at hotels and conference centers worldwide has selected to deploy Motorola (NYSE: MOT) PowerBroadband technology in multiple, large-scale hotel applications.
iBAHN has recently utilized Motorola’s mT2a system in multiple hotels in conjunction with its NextConnect service, and is now endorsing the mT2a PowerBroadband system for deployment across all appropriate hotel properties. iBAHN is the first broadband provider to utilize this new technology and is the only provider that has integrated the equipment on a network that provides enterprise-grade security with proven reliability. The mT2a product line was chosen because its innovative design provides the performance levels required for next-generation, triple- and quad-play IP services, while eliminating many of the frustrations often found with installing, using, and maintaining classic broadband systems.
„We are excited about the success we saw with the deployment of Motorola’s mT2a system into several major hotels in the Washington, D.C. area and in the 2,000-room Orlando World Center Marriott Resort in Florida,” stated Lawrence A. Dustin, iBAHN President, North American Hotel Group. “While the primary application supported today over mT2a is high-speed Internet access, the new broadband infrastructure will also support additional guest services such as movie and video downloads to PCs, voice-over-IP, and in-room wireless access for seamless mobility. Additionally, Motorola’s innovative wallplate has reduced customer complaints and maintenance requests. For these reasons we are now endorsing this new de facto standard for deployment across all branded hotel properties.”
“Motorola’s mT2a system is an ideal broadband hospitality solution for many different applications,” said Greg Ioffe, General Manager of Motorola’s Private Broadband Networks solutions. “We are especially glad to be working closely with iBAHN and their hotel partners. Our mT2a system with iBAHN’s service management creates a seamless mobility experience for traveling businessmen between their work and lodging environments We look forward to many additional deployments and new innovative guest services being deployed by iBAHN in hotels worldwide.”
An innovative feature of the mT2a PowerBroadband system is the m2 Wallplate which directly snaps on over existing telephone wallplates found in hotel guestrooms. No additional wiring nor rewiring is required. All power and broadband modules are contained within the small Wallplate eliminating the requirement for separate broadband modems and power supplies. Hotels especially like the reduced clutter and clean appearance of the “no box” solution.
