GIBRALTAR TO ATTEND EUROPEAN CRUISE COUNCIL CONFERENCE

GIBRALTAR TO ATTEND EUROPEAN CRUISE COUNCIL CONFERENCE


Gibraltar will be attending the European Cruise Council Conference being held in Rome
tomorrow (Tuesday 19th May). The Conference is being run in parallel with, and alongside,
the European Commission “European Maritime Day” event hosted by the Italian Government.

Attending the Conference will be various politicians and leading figures of the Maritime
Industry. Speakers include Senior Executives of the leading Cruise Lines. In the Plenary
Session a Keynote Speech will be given by the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and
also by the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso. The Hon Joe
Holliday will be attending this event.
To coincide with the Conference, the European Cruise Council will present the “Economic
Impact Study” 2008.
The Conference ends with a Dinner at which The Hon Joe Holliday, Minister with
responsibility for Shipping, will be addressing the gathering on Gibraltar Maritime activities.
Minister Holliday who is accompanied by his private secretary Peter Canessa, returns to
Gibraltar on Wednesday.
