Four easy steps to a switched-on channel business

Fujitsu Siemens Computers yestererday announces the EMEA-wide launch of its Online Certification Center (OCC) for the channel. Sales partners, sales, pre-sales and post-sales staff now have the opportunity to set themselves apart from the competition through flexible, cost-effective online training and certification anytime and anywhere.

Partners that are certified receive preferred ranking on the Fujitsu Siemens Computers Reseller Locator website.  This certification service is free of charge and further underlines Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ ongoing commitment to do everything it can to help the channel achieve success.

Three Internet portals have been set up for Mobility, Storage and PRIMERGY certification. Each portal provides training requirements, preparatory material and online tests. Courses are available for certification as a sales professional in the field of Mobility solutions or as a sales professional, pre-sales consultant, or systems engineer for Storage or PRIMERGY solutions. Instruction takes the form of either a PowerPoint presentation or e-learning and consists of four simple steps:

Step 1 – Visit local channel partner portal, go to the training area and choose ‘Online Certification Center’. Then select relevant area: mobility, storage or PRIMERGY.

Step 2 – Select profession:, sales professional, pre-sales consultant or systems engineer. Click on ‘Exam preparation’.

Step 3 – Select preferred learning format: either e-learning or PowerPoint.

Step 4 – Take the online exam.

Once the tests are completed, the user is immediately informed whether they have passed. Successful candidates are then sent a certificate by post and their details are recorded in the system.

The OCC is already running successfully in Germany, where the program started in December 2006.

OCCs are also available in Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy,  Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and the United Kingdom.
