AirTran Airways Celebrates Low Fares During Independence Day Events in Atlanta

AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), the parent company of AirTran Airways, will observe Independence Day by sponsoring a number of significant events in the Atlanta area on July 4th, honoring our country’s sovereignty as well as our customers‘ freedom from expensive airfares.

ORLANDO, Fla.  – AirTran Airways will sponsor WSB-TV’s Salute 2 America Parade, the country’s largest Independence Day parade, and will serve as the title sponsor of the AirTran Airways 4th of July at Lenox Square, the largest fireworks show in the southeast. AirTran Airways Crew Members will participate in the Salute 2 America Parade, which features an AirTran Airways float and an AirTran Airways plane balloon, for an estimated crowd of more than 300,000 attendees and 350,000 additional television viewers.

For the AirTran Airways 4th of July at Lenox Square celebration, live music, an aerial display featuring Black Hawk helicopters, and an interactive children’s playground will highlight the festivities, along with more than three tons‘ worth of fireworks. Be sure to stop by the AirTran Airways/Hands On Atlanta booth for the chance to win roundtrip tickets, to be given away throughout the evening.

AirTran Airways will also sponsor the spectacular fireworks and special effects show at Centennial Olympic Park, complete with live entertainment and a Fountain of Olympic Rings water show. American Idol champion and R&B sensation Ruben Studdard headlines the musical acts, which also include local band Stokeswood, as well as the United States Air Force band, Max Impact.

AirTran Airways Crew Members at the Carrollton Reservations Call Center created a float to participate in the Carrollton People’s Parade contest for July 4th, and will also be passing out refreshments and goodies to parade attendees. The AirTran float finished in second place in 2006, and will challenge for the title once again this year.
