From March 25 2007, JAL and Thai Airways will expand their bilateral code share agreement to include twice daily domestic flights operated by the Thai airline between Bangkok and the popular holiday destination of Krabi in southern Thailand.

Tokyo – Located approximately 814 kilometers from Bangkok, Krabi Province is a popular holiday destination for Japanese tourists. It has been described as one of the most attractive destinations in southern Thailand teeming with natural attractions including white sandy beaches, fascinating coral reefs, numerous large and small islands including the world famous PhiPhi Islands, and verdant forests with caves and waterfalls.

Passengers traveling from Japan will be able to smoothly connect via Bangkok’s new Suvarnabhumi International airport onto Krabi using the new domestic code share flights. Including code share flights operated by Thai Airways, JAL currently serves the new Bangkok airport on 4 routes with a total of 56 round-trip flights per week, linking Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo to the Thai capital. JAL already offers convenient domestic connection services from Suvarnabhumi International airport to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Phuket using Thai Airways operated flights carrying the Japan Airlines code `JL‘.

Furthermore, JAL will stop code sharing on Thai Airways‘ daily flight operating between Bangkok’s Don Muang airport and the southern Thai city of Hat Yai on March 24 2007. JAL and Thai Airways first started code sharing in 1988.
