IBM steigert Marktanteil im weltweiten Plattenspeichersegment


IBM (NYSE: IBM) hat bekannt gegeben, daß das Unternehmen im zweiten Quartal 2007 der am schnellsten wachsende Anbieter von Plattenspeichern unter den größten vier Marktanbietern war.

IBM hält 19,25 Prozent Marktanteil am gesamten Plattenspeichermarkt und konnte seinen Marktanteil um 5,5 Prozent im Vergleich zum ersten Quartal 2007 ausbauen (1).

Die Ergebnisse basieren auf dem IDC Report „Worldwide Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker“ für das zweite Quartal 2007, in dem IDC festgestellt hat, daß der Gesamtmarkt ein Volumen von circa 6,1 Milliarden Dollar hat.

Laut IDC war IBM im Jahr 2006 auch der größte Speichersystemanbieter aus einer kombinierten weltweiten Platten- und Disk-Perspektive nach Umsatz (2).

IBM Grows Market Share in Worldwide Disk Storage

IBM Is the Fastest Growing of the Top Four Disk Storage Vendors for the Second Quarter of 2007

ARMONK, NY – 07 Sep 2007: IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that for the top four market share owners for total disk storage in the second quarter 2007, IBM was the fastest growing vendor for the quarter, capturing 19.25% of the total disk storage market, growing its market share 5.5% compared to the first quarter 2007 (1).

The results were based on the report „IDC Worldwide Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker“ for the second quarter of 2007, where IDC stated that the total disk storage market was a $6.1 billion market.

According to IDC, IBM was the number one supplier of storage hardware from a combined worldwide revenue disk and tape perspective in 2006 (2).
