Continental Airlines Announces Special Items for Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2009


Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) expects to record $77 million of special charges during the fourth quarter of 2009 ($145 million for the full year 2009). Continental also expects to record a non-cash income tax benefit during the fourth quarter of 2009 and for the year ended Dec. 31, 2009.

Airbus foresees demand for some 24,300 aircraft in the next 20 years.


According to its latest Global Market Forecast, Airbus foresees a demand for some 24,300 new passenger and freighter aircraft valued at US$ 2.8 trillion between now and 2026. This will create an average annual delivery of some 1,215 aircraft, up from the previously forecast 1,130 average deliveries in the last GMF.

Vietnam orders 10 Airbus A350 XWB and 20 additional Airbus A321 aircraft


Vietnam Airlines has signed a contract for 10 A350-900 XWBs, as well as for 10 additional A321s. This announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the aircraft on 1st October 2007 in the presence of Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of Vietnam during his state visit to France.
