Building on merger benefits, expanded Salt Lake City service will offer thousands of customers new options for connecting to the West and beyond
Salt Lake City – Building on the benefits of its recent merger with Northwest, Delta Air Lines soon will offer customers in eight additional U.S. cities the convenience of daily nonstop flights between their hometown airports and Salt Lake City, with connecting service to 102 worldwide destinations beyond. The new flights, made possible by the combination of Delta’s and Northwest’s geographically distinct networks, will introduce more convenient westbound service to thousands of customers.
In addition to service to eight new cities, Delta also has expanded the number of daily frequencies between Salt Lake City and nine existing domestic destinations. By June 2009, Delta will add one additional daily round-trip flight between Salt Lake City and Baltimore; Spokane, Wash.; Oakland, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; Phoenix; St. Louis; Memphis, Tenn., and Los Angeles; and two additional daily round-trip flights between Salt Lake City and Seattle. ****
The new Salt Lake City routes, effective June 4, include: Bismarck, N.D. (once daily); Des Moines, Iowa (once daily); El Paso, Texas (once daily); Fargo, N.D. (once daily); Indianapolis, Ind. (once daily); Milwaukee, Wis. (twice daily); Nashville, Tenn. (once daily); and Sioux Falls, S.D. (once daily)
„The addition of new nonstop flights and added frequencies from Delta’s Salt Lake City hub means thousands of airline customers will have faster options for connecting across the Mountain West to points around the world, all powered by the benefits of the Delta-Northwest merger,“ said Bob Cortelyou, Delta’s senior vice president – Network Planning.
Beyond offering convenient connections to destinations across the Mountain West, Delta’s new Salt Lake City flights are strategically timed to allow seamless nonstop international connections, including connecting to Delta’s new five-times weekly service between Salt Lake City and Tokyo (beginning June 3)* and the airline’s existing daily nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Additionally, passengers making connections to Tokyo will have the option of connecting beyond Tokyo’s Narita Airport to 12 points throughout Asia.
