Aviation Capital Group orders 20 Airbus A320 Family Aircraft

United States based lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has placed a firm order for 20 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. The order is for four A319s, 14 A320s and two A321s.

ACG, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific LifeCorp, already has more than 70 A320 Family aircraft in its portfolio and this latest addition to their fleet represents the first direct transaction between ACG and Airbus.

„The Airbus A320 Family is a popular, highly fuel efficient aircraft and very much in demand,“ said R. Stephen Hannahs, ACG Group Managing Director and CEO. „Our decision to buy more of the A320 range fits in with our long term strategy of providing modern, efficient and productive aircraft. Airbus‘ A320 Family fit all these criteria in addition to offering greater cabin space for added passenger comfort.“

„We are delighted that Aviation Capital Group has placed this order with Airbus. In the A320, they have bought the most successful single aisle aircraft family in the world with over 5,000 sales and 3000 deliveries to date. We look forward to a long-term partnership with ACG,“ said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers.

The A320 is recognised as the benchmark single-aisle aircraft family, which includes the A318, the A319, A320 and A321. Each aircraft features fly-by-wire controls and unique cockpit commonality across the Airbus Family. This allows flight crews to fly each aircraft with minimal additional training.

With proven reliability and extended servicing periods, every member of the A320 Family has the lowest operating costs of any aircraft in the same category. The latest models feature additional advanced aerodynamics helping reduce fuel burn even further, making the A320 Family amongst the greenest aircraft ever.

The A320 Family already have the widest cabins of any single aisle aircraft and this leads to operational advantages such as quicker boarding and disembarkation times. In addition, the all new cabin design saves on weight and offers the passenger a quieter and roomier experience as well as significantly larger overhead stowage compartments.

Over 5000 Airbus A320 Family have been sold and over 3000 delivered to more than 180 customers and operators worldwide, making it the world’s best selling single aircraft family ever.
